Information and Assistance- service designed to link the older adult and/or caregivers to needed services.

Outreach- at home service intended to inform thr older person and/or caregiver of services available and to connect that client to the services needed.

Legal Assistance- 3rd Friday of every month from 2:30 to 3:30pm. Call to schedule an appointment.

SHIP- (Senior Health Insureance Program) is designed to provide information on Medicare supplement insurance questions. As well as assistance with problems with Medicare and appeals. Free of charge for seniors. Call the Senior Center at 815-879-3981

Assistive Devices- Assistive Device Free Loan Program is for all citizens age 60 and over who reside in Bureau County and all surrounding counties. Various devices such as walkers, wheel chairs, commodes, and many other items are available for free loan. A donation upon return is appreciated.

Income Tax Service- Appointments begin the 1st of February through April. Appointments are necessary and donations for this service are welcomed. Sponsored by the AARP.
Transportation
The Senior Center offers transportation service to persons over the age of 60 in all areas of Bureau County. Individual transportation is available for medical appointments. We are able to travel as far as Peoria, Rockford, and the Quad Cities on a limited basis. A handicapped accessible minivan is available to provide transportation to wheelchair bound clients. On occasion socialization trips are planned for evenings, holidays, and weekends.
There will not be transportation available on holidays except in special circumstances. All reservations should be made at least 24 hours in advance. There is a suggested donation of $7.50 per hour for individual trips in Princeton and $10.00 per hour for out of town trips. However, no one is denied service for inability to contribute. Voluntary Action Center along with the Bureau County Senior Center Daily Meals
Congregate meals are back in Bureau County. They will be held at the Bureau County Senior Center located at 16 W. Marion St. Princeton. If you would like to participate please call the Senior Center (815-879-3981) by 10am the day before you wish to make a reservation. You must have a rsvp.
These will be offered to anyone age 60 or older with a suggested contribution of $4. Guests under age 60 may dine with us for a cost of $5.

You must call the day before by 10am for your meal reservation.
Lunches are served Monday-Friday at 11:30AM
Suggested donations are always welcome. But, no Senior will ever be denied services, due to the inability to make a donation.
FOOD BANK
Food banks are on Mondays and Wednesdays of the week starting at 12:30 unless the senior center is closed. Food bank is curbside only. Stay in your car and line up outside the Senior Center.
Everyone is eligible, there is no required information needed.
